About Suhaila
Suhaila Sahmarani is a Lebanese-Dutch (press)photographer, based in the Netherlands. She started in 1990 in Beirut-Lebanon als persfotograaf. In Lebanon she worked for newspapers, magazines and in AFP untill she came to Holland in 2004, where she started working for magazines and other media. Her work spans various fields of photography, her photos having been published in newspapers, magazines, books, and on the internet. Suhaila focuses mainly on fashion photgraphy, food photography, street photography, business photography cars, planes & art in the Netherlands and abroad. She accepts assignments from individual and corporate clients. Suhaila speaks Arabic, English, French and Dutch. Suhaila Sahmarani is een Nederlands-Libanese (pers) fotografe, woonachtig in Groningen. Ze startte als persfotografe in 1990, in Beiroet, Libanon, waar ze fotografeerde voor kranten en tijdschriften. Ze werkte jarenlang lokaal krant als elDyaar n.p., Afkaar m. The Daily Star n.p. en voor het internationale persbureau AFP (Agence France Press) met als standplaats Beiroet. In opdracht van AFP fotografeerde ze in landen als Libanon, Syrië en Irak. Ze versloeg de oorlog(en) van Israël met Libanon en was in Irak ten tijde van het regiem van Sadam Hoessein. In Nederland werkt ze als persfotografe en bedient ze de zakelijke markt. Ze is speciaal geïnteresseerd in portret-, mode- en culinaire fotografie. Suhaila spreekt Arabisch, Engels, Frans en Nederlands.
